Handing over the Draft Assam Jail Rules 2021 to Hon'ble Sri Niraj Verma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home & Political Department, Government of Assam

Tuesday, October 26, 2021 Location:Dispur

Today on 26-10-2021, Smti Barnali Sharma, ACS, Inspector General of Prisons, Assam along with Shri Dilip Saikia, DIG of Prisons(HQ), Assam have finally handing over the complete Draft Assam Jail Rules, 2021 to Hon'ble Niraj Verma, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home & Political Department, Goverment of Assam and Shri Diganta Bora, IPS, Secretary, Home & Political Department, Government of Assam.  The complete Draft Assam Jail Rules, 2021 is prepared by the Sub-Committee, constituted by Government vide Notification No.HMB.308/2016/32 dated 04-09-2018 and it consists of 46 Chapters and 452 pages and it is for the adaptation of Model Prison Manual 2016. Smti. Barnali Sharma, ACS, Inspector General of Prisons, Assam conveys her sincere gratitude to all the esteemed members of the Sub-Committee constituted for the purpose and the entire team of Prisons Headquarters for successful completion of Draft Assam Jail Rules, 2021.
